- DNA is made of repeating units called a nucleotide - it has 3 parts (phosphate, sugar, nitrogenous base).
- DNA is a double helix. The sides of the ladder are formed from a chain of phosphate groups joined by strong chemical bonds to the sugars from nucleotides on either side.
